There's a point in competitive dance when the teacher becomes coach.  When all the basics you learned in beginner classes become the important foundation to competitive success!  Mr. Dowds' experience both as a student who won Worlds and as a professional dancer, means success for the student with the desire to win.  This is where the student and coach are a team working together toward a common goal - winning at competitions.

FRIENDS and FUN!  These are also very important to success.  While each student wins based on their individual performance on stage, TEAM DOWDS' students encourage each other in a friendly environment.  Our students are more than fellow classmates, they are friends and sometimes lifetime friends.  

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED!  Marty Dowds is there to support and encourage you! Mr. Dowds is there to give you the very best instruction possible whether it's in class or in a private lesson.  He's there to motivate you to try harder!  Mr. Dowds works with all his students from Champions to beginning competitors treating each student with respect.  There are no "favorites" at Dowds Irish Dance Academy.
